TRAINING ACADEMY
The Chesapeake Sheriff's Office Training Academy is a Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) certified training academy. The CSO Training Academy provides Entry Level, In-Service, and Specialized training to both the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office and other outside law enforcement agencies.

Entry Level
The following is the basic entry-level academy that all Deputy Sheriff Trainees will receive:
- Basic Jailor
- Basic Court Room Security
- Basic Civil Process
- Firearms Training
- OC Spray Training
- Defensive Tactics Training
Specialized Training
The following is the Specialized training the Academy offers:
- General Instructor school
- Defensive Tactics Instructor
- Firearms Trainer Instructor
- OC Spray Instructor
